Peter Letwiniuk

May 14, 1932 — September 26, 2023

With heavy hearts, we said good-bye to Peter Letwiniuk from Saskatoon on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Surrounded by family, he passed away peacefully in St. Paul’s hospital at the age of 91.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Sheryl Deeg (David); daughter-in-law, Tina-Marie Letwiniuk; five grandchildren, Chris Deeg (Nicole), Jesse Deeg (Kim), Nikolas Letwiniuk (Kaitlin), Danitra Laverdiere (Jason), and Katrina Letwiniuk; six great-grandchildren, Jahnaya, Abigael and Henry, Jocelyn and Owen, and Jaxson and Chevelle. He is survived by siblings Mike, Anne (Derksen), George, and Alec. He is predeceased by his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Shelley Ann; son, Dennis; and grandson, Dallas.

Any day fishing was a great day in Peter’s eyes. He seemed to always reel in something for supper, and if he didn’t, his story of “the one that got away” was just as tasty. Peter also loved his garden. Anyone visiting would be sent home with a bucket of beets, potatoes, dill, and don’t forget the cucumbers!

Peter’s mission in life was to find the perfect pierogi recipe and the good ones are taped to the inside of his kitchen cupboard door. Most of all, the love for his family was Peter’s biggest devotion. His regular phone calls to chat about everything from sports and the weather to when the next family gathering would be, will be sadly missed.

Family and friends will celebrate Peter’s life in June 2024, at Pike Lake.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Peter Letwiniuk.
