Ray went on to high school in North Battleford where he graduated from High School He moved back home to Patuanak and worked at the Hudson Bay store for numerous years. He met his love, Irene and moved to Waterhen, where he resided until his passing.
He leaves behind his step children Richard, Alana, Twylla, and Jason Blackbird.
Survived by his sister: Antoinette (Jim) Herman; numerous nieces and nephews; his adopted brother Jerry (Carol) Bernard and their children; nieces Mary, Melvina & Brenda Aubichon; nephew Jason Aubichon; along with several nieces and nephews from Ile a la Crosse, and cousins from Canoe Lake, First Nation fromhis maternal side.
Pre-deceased by his wife Irene Blackbird; parents Joseph & Adele Bell; brothers Martin & Emile Bell; sister Pauline Gardener; grandparents Raphael & Genevieve Iron; adopted parents Antoine & Marie Bernard; brother Albert; sisters Jean Bernard & Caroline Aubichon; and brother-in-law Jonas.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, 1:00 pm, at the Waterhen Lake Gymnasium, Waterhen Lake, SK. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Smile Cemetery, Waterhen Lake, SK.
