Robert Lorne Russell

June 17, 1958 — May 21, 2024

It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Robert (Bob) Russell on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Royal University Hospital, at the age of 65. Bob is survived by his two daughters Carly (Ken) Russell, their children, Finley and James, daughter Danna (Caalen) Covey, and their children, Freya, Linley and Iris, brother Doug Russell, his children, Jennifer Deos, Brad Russell and Mike Russell, and stepmother Sharon Russell. Bob was predeceased by his father Lorne Russell, mother Mary Russell and sister Elaine Partington.

Bob was born on June 17, 1958 in Saskatoon to Mary and Lorne Russell. He was the youngest of three children. He graduated high school at Nutana Collegiate and went on to attend a year of university in the college of agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. In his younger years, he spent much of his time working with horses and had a successful career at English riding until an injury ended his professional riding dreams. He worked for Payway Feeds for 10 years selling feed to farmers. Bob later took over the family farm in the river valley at Beaver Creek. He was proud to be able to spend many years caring for his family and the land he farmed. Bob loved the outdoors, hunting in the valley, finding a good fishing hole, and tipping a glass back with friends. In his later years, he developed a love for travel and Jamaica. The self professed “Coconut Cowboy” spent as much time in Jamaica as he could, enjoying its culture and the many friendships he found there.

As per Bob’s request, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Robert's care.
