I, Roy Wright, was born in Porcupine Plain on June 22, 1958 to parents Tony and Ruby Wright. I was the Number 3 son and brother to Richard, Larry, Michael And Ernie. We grew up on the farm. After Dad passed away, my Mom married A very special man who became Dad to all of us boys. Our family adjusted again after he passed away.
We left the farm and brought our life of laughter and joy out to Chilliwack, BC. I had many jobs there from grocery stores, janitorial to even planting flowers with a buddy in B.C. I moved back to Saskatchewan, to Moose Jaw, where I ran and owned my own cab company and cleaning company until I had to retire due to health issues. It's amazing how fast a lifetime can become a whirlwind.
How can one sum up their life in a few words, especially somebody who talks as much as I do? I have been truly blessed by God's love and truly blessed in knowing each and every one of you. Becoming Papa Roy, and Uncle Roy to many kids over the years, who may not have been my blood relatives but became my family, has been so special to me.
With the prior loss of many family members, I leave to mourn my partner: Bob Croteau; My two brothers: Richard (Yvonne) and Ernie;
My Nephews: Christopher(Evelyn) and Dwayne; My best friend, Charlotte Darmokid and her family: Ryan, Cathy, Ramona and Riley;
My adopted family, Cherelyn, Makayla, Mason and the rest of their family.
I just can't name everyone who has touched my soul, my heart. May you all know how much I loved you. Today is not Goodbye, but a day to celebrate. For today I am walking on streets of gold, Hand in hand with Jesus And all the family and friends waiting for me. Until then Beloved, I made it!
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Roy's arrangements and care.
