Scott was born on May 20, 1958, in Saskatoon, SK. He was a hard worker who had a passion for handy work, this led to various roles throughout his career including CN Rail and town maintenance. When Scott was not working, he loved keeping busy tinkering around whether it be in his shed, on his car or odd jobs around the house.

Scott is best known for being a man of few words however his eyebrows and facial reactions would tell you exactly what was on his mind. If you were ever in need of an ice breaker, you simply had to bring up sports and the conversation would flow effortlessly. Scott’s love for sports started early with him playing football and competing in track and field, later evolving to him coaching his son’s hockey team. He was a devoted father who spent countless hours attending his kids’ various sporting events. Scott was a gentle soul and cared deeply for his family and friends, often putting other’s needs before his own. He had a love for music and enjoyed sitting back with loved ones listening to records. Scott was a proud grandpa who enjoyed spending time at the park with the kids and teaching them life’s greatest lessons. His legacy of love and resiliency will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Scott was predeceased by his parents Helen Ruth Dean and Terrence Brown Maher. Scott is survived by his children: Justin (Crystal), Devon (Shelaine), Jordan and Dean (Ashley); grandchildren Sydney, Ashton, Aiden, Liam, Noah, Nixon, McKinley, Olivia, and Breanna; brothers Dean and Guy; sisters Jamie, Deborah “Raelea”, and Beverly; his nieces, nephews and other family members as well as his life-long friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to colon cancer research in Scott’s name.
