Sheldon Bruce Sylvestre

Sheldon Bruce Sylvestre, affectionately known to those who loved him as "Denesoo," entered this world on September 13, 1991, and left us far too soon on October 6, 2024. His journey, though short in years, was filled with a brightness that touched the lives of many. Sheldon was a son, a brother, an uncle, and a friend, enriching the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know.

Sheldon’s adoptive parents, Augustine and John L. Montgrand, embraced him with open hearts, providing him with unwavering love and support throughout his life. Together, they nurtured him into the remarkable man he became. He was cherished by his parents, Bruce J Montgrand and Rebecca Sylvestre (Lemaigre), who instilled in him the values of kindness, resilience, and humor. 

Sheldon shared a special bond with his siblings: Brittney, Patrick, Jada, and Gina Santana, as well as his adopted siblings, Rose, Timothy, Victorina, and Sandra. Each sibling brought distinctive quirks and traits to the family dynamic, and Sheldon’s warm spirit brought them all closer, creating a home filled with laughter and love.

Surrounded by the rich traditions of family, Sheldon was also deeply connected to his grandparents, Rose and Ron Desjardin. Their influence and wisdom shaped his character, and their love for him was a constant beacon in his life. The legacy of his great-grandparents, Eleanor Guetre, Jean-Marie Montgrand, Leon Montgrand, Elise Montgrand, Marie Sylvestre, and JB Sylvestre, lives on through the stories and memories they created, reminding us that we are all part of something much larger than ourselves.

Sheldon’s family extended beyond blood relations; he was surrounded by a vast network of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who admired his passionate spirit and infectious laughter. Uncles Terry and Daniel, along with countless others, enveloped their lives with profound love and proud anecdotes of Sheldon’s unique journey.

As we gather to honor Sheldon’s life, we hold tight to the memories we made together. We celebrate a life that was beautiful, impactful, and far too brief. In the words of those who knew and loved him, Sheldon ‘Denesoo’ Sylvestre will forever shine brightly in our hearts.

Wake Service for Sheldon will start on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Augustine and John L Montgrand's home. His Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Turnor Lake, SK. Officiated by Fr. Maria Roberts, SDM. Sheldon's Interment will follow after his service at the Turnor Lake Cemetery.
