Susan Kleiter

July 20, 1936 — June 4, 2021

It is with deepest sorrow to announce the passing of our beloved mother, Susan Marie Kleiter (nee: Charko), as a result of recent complications from pancreatic cancer on June 4, 2021. Susan was born in Lorenzo, Saskatchewan on July 20, 1936. She married Ken Kleiter on February 11, 1961. They were married for 55 years until Ken’s passing in December 2016.

Susan was a Certified Nursing Aide and worked in Saskatoon, Regina, and Calgary hospitals. After her husband retired, they moved to Saskatoon where Susan worked as a recreational worker at Extendicare and was presented with “Quality of Life” award recognizing her valuable contribution she made to residents. She later volunteered as a CWL member in her parish. Susan also committed her time to various Parkinson’s Support Group programs and projects. She had been blessed to care for others right to her passing.

Susan was predeceased by her parents Helen and Peter Charko, her brother John Charko, and her husband Ken Kleiter. Susan is survived by her sister Angie Keryliw and brother-in-law Paul Keryliw; sister-in-law Jan Charko; Susan’s children Vern (Kasey) and Murray (Juanita); and their four grandchildren, Kyle, Casey, Kiara and Kian – as well as all her extended family members.

Susan was an outstanding woman who was very caring and loving. She dearly loved all the people in her life with an open heart, endless compassion, and unconditional kindness.

The mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Rd.) in Saskatoon (with ample space up to 150 persons). The Rite of Committal will follow at the Columbarium at St. John’s Cathedral where she will be placed at rest beside her husband, Ken.

May God bless you mom – you will be missed and remembered by all whose lives you so deeply touched.

Arrangements entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home.
