It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Terry Dale Drews on March 31, 2024. Terry passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
Terry was born in Saskatoon on May 3, 1951, to Herman and Helen Drews. He was the second eldest out of 6 children; Sandra (Al), Donna (Bob), Glenn, Brenda (Greg) and Lynda (Richard). Terry was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela. He was raised on his family farm near Saskatoon.
Terry married Tina and they moved onto the family farm, where they built their family home and raised three kids, Pamela, Erin, Tyler (Jill). Terry worked for Patience Lake Potash mine for 43 years and worked his way up to production supervisor, and for many years he was actively involved in mine rescue at the Potash mine.
Terry and Tina also ran a grain and cattle operation while both working full time off the farm. Terry loved the outdoors, his passion was fishing and hunting. He had a very strong work ethic and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He had a soft heart especially when it came to animals. Terry always had a great sense of humour, and usually had witty comebacks. Terry had a very strong personality and was very resilient that helped him deal with his health issues. Terry had a very rare vascular disorder (HHT) which resulted in numerous trips to the Royal University Hospital emergency department. As a result, Terry stayed close to home, but this didn’t let him slow him down as that meant he could plant an even larger garden. Terry was never one to sit idle whether it was baling, combining, pulling calves or pulling apart a tractor there was always something to do around the farm.
Terry loved his grandchildren Emily and Warren who he loved to spoil and spend time with. Terry’s battle is over, and he has gone home to heaven to join his daughter Pam and the rest of his family.
With so much time spent at the hospital he met extraordinary staff at RUH, City and St. Pauls Hospital. Terry was blessed to have so many compassionate nurses, and doctors. We would like to thank the amazing nurses, Doctors, supportive staff, palliative care and blood donors. A special thanks to Dr. C. Wall, Dr. M. Misfeldt, Dr. E. Lubiantoro, Dr. H. Goubron, and a special nurse Mae.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 14th, 2024, at Clavet Community Hall, 2nd Avenue, Clavet, SK., at 1:00 p.m. Please join the family for a luncheon following the service.
