August 1945 - December 2024
Our Trev passed away peacefully at Oliver Lodge with his family by his side. “He’s been slowly slipping away, saying a long goodbye over the last few years: and now he’s blessed with eternal rest.”
Trev was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Lucille Yager (Kenaston Sk), sister in law Jo-Anne Yager and brother in law Bob Coutts. He leaves to mourn, his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyne (Bandet), their son Cameron (Maureen Rask), grandchildren Connor and Brayden; their daughter Renee; brother Gerry; sister in law Sylvia (Bob) Aebig; sister in law Claudette Coutts; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
Trev was a wonderful, fun loving, kind, caring gentleman; best husband ever. Trev loved music, played guitar and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Our gatherings with family and friends always included music, great jokes and storytelling with Trev at his best. Trev was a great dad, teaching life lessons by example. He loved supporting, sometimes coaching but always cheering on our children and later on our grandchildren; a proud Dad and Papa. We all enjoyed many summers at Waskesiu together, forging wonderful friendships that, over the years were like family.
Trev was devoted to his wife and family, a great provider. His business ethic was exemplary and he was respected by his staff, always leading with kindness, compassion and teamwork. He worked in the food industry for over 43 years, managing and operating successful Food Brokerages as owner and partner. He was also well respected in the food industry, from store level to buyers. He loved his job and was known to say “I never met anyone I didn’t like”.
He loved and played many sports and treasured the lifelong friendships especially with Saskatoon Old Pros hockey; Saskatoon Golf Country Club; Waskesiu / Lobstick golf; Saskatoon Blades Hockey Club; Sutherland and A.C.T curling club; baseball and slow pitch teams.. He was a Sask Roughrider fan, George Reed being his all time favourite.
It's not just the stories he left behind, it's the lives he touched while he was here. He was a very special man. Always loved, Always remembered. Our pain is a small price to pay for his peace. Rest in Peace Trev.
