Troy Barry Fontaine, born on March 18, 1985, was a remarkable soul who departed from this world on October 21, 2024. Troy's life was a tapestry woven with vibrant threads of love, laughter, and connection. He touched the lives of everyone he encountered, leaving an indelible mark that will be cherished forever.
Troy is survived by his devoted parents, Chief Barry Fontaine and Rose Boschman, who raised him with unwavering love and support. He was a beloved brother to his sisters, Troanna Fontaine, Travita Fontaine, and Jaycee Janvier, as well as his brothers, Travis Fontaine and Dakota Fontaine. Each sibling shared countless memories filled with joy and camaraderie, bonded by the unique and unconditional love that only siblings can understand.
A special friend to many, Troy's heart held a particularly close place for Ashley Janvier, who stood by him through life's ups and downs.
Troy was blessed to be part of a large extended family, including numerous aunties and uncles, who filled his life with warmth, guidance, and laughter, instilling a rich sense of belonging—a true treasure to carry throughout his life.
Though Troy's journey on this earth was cut short, he was welcomed into the embrace of his loving grandparents: Anne Fontaine and Jean Marie Fontaine, along with Eleanor Lemaigre, Martha Herman, and Paul Herman. Their memories and love continue to reside in the hearts of those he left behind. He joins his aunties and uncles, Rudy Herman, Rita Herman, and Rhoda Herman, and cousins, including Blair Lemaigre and Anah Fontaine, Lorie Fontaine, and Douglas Clarke, in a serene place where laughter echoes endlessly.
Troy was a shining light in the lives of many, whose laughter could brighten the darkest of days. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, reminding all who knew him to cherish every moment and hold tightly to the bonds of love. As we remember Troy, we celebrate his life—a beautiful journey full of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. He may be gone, but he will always be with us, guiding us as we navigate through life, his spirit intertwined with ours.
Wake Service will begin on Wednesday, October 22, 2024 in Creewater River Dene Nation. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Our Lady of Visitation Roman Catholic Church in La Loche, SK. Officiated by Fr. Maria Roberts, SDM. Interment to follow at the La Loche Cemetery.
