William "Bill" Ginther

The family of William “Bill” Ginther is deeply saddened to announce his peaceful passing on October 1, 2024 at the age of 71 years.

Dad was born in Saskatoon on December 5, 1952 to parents Abram & Eva Ginther. He spent his early childhood in Martensville where he met the love of his life, Linda (Lynn) Wall. They were married on July 15, 1972 and raised three children.

Dad loved spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors. He will always be remembered for his humor, quick wit and his special gift of storytelling. Whether it was around a campfire, or at a family gathering, he always had a story to make people laugh.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife of 52 years, Lynn; Children, Carrie (Jeff), Charlene (Lane), Tony (Chrissy); Grandchildren; Josh, Carissa, Raenna, Rhett, Loni; Great-grandchildren, Jayda, Bentley, Jayce, Claire; Siblings, Marianne (Abe) Hamm, Betty Friesen, Abe (Bonnie), Ben (Lucille), Stella (Ron) Sawatzky, Ed (Marcy); In-laws, Irvine (Linda) Wall, Edna Melnychuk.

He was predeceased by his parents, Abram & Eva Ginther, his mother in-law Tena Wall, father in-law Peter R. Wall, brother in-laws, Erdman Friesen and Mike Melnychuk.

The family would like to thank Saskatoon Health Authority Home Care and the amazing team of nurses, doctors, and staff at the St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit.

A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Mayfair United Church, 902 33rd Street West, in Saskatoon at 2:00 pm. Lunch and fellowship to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit.
