It is with absolute sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Mary Jeannette Slater, our wonderful mother, spouse, sister, aunt, grandma, and great friend to many.
She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved spouse John Harder, daughter Naomi (Jim), Yutta (Rob), sons Joe (Monica), Roger, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, granddaughter, grandsons, great-grandson and her very many special dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents and many brothers and sisters.
Mom was born in Pine Falls, Manitoba to Antonio Papineau and Lillian Lambert (nee Fontaine). She moved around a few times until finally settling in Biggar, Saskatchewan in her later years.
Her love of crafting was evident to all that had the privilege of receiving something she had made or created with her own hands and out of love. She enjoyed visits, trips, and crafting with the “grannies” from Biggar.
She loved the many shopping sprees to her favorite stores such as Giant Tiger and Dollar Stores and eating out. Her love of owls and angels was evident all around her.
She started the fight of her life in 2019 after quintuple bypass surgery and from then on complications of every shape and size from other organ issues. She fought like she lived life, with strength and courage. She didn’t like to burden anyone with her ailments and was strong and stubborn right to the end.
Family would like to thank the staff at Palliative Care at St. Paul’s hospital for the utmost loving care and comfort they showed her in her final days,
Mom has now earned her angel wings.
There will be no service, but if so desired and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palliative Care at St. Paul’s hospital in Saskatoon in her memory or plant a tree in her honour.
We love ❤️ you to the moon 🌜and back MOM
